SCHOOL POLICIES

TO THE PARENTS

• A school is a trio parents, teachers and the students. Success of a school rests on the cooperation and coordination of the trio mentioned above.

• The parents are requested to see that their children come to the school regularly with all the teaching and learning materials required as per the daily time table.

• The parents are requested to check the school diaries of their children and act according to the notes given by the teachers. Such notes should be signed by the parents regularly.

• The parents should ensure that their children come to school in proper school uniform and it should be always neat and clean and shoes should be properly polished.

• In case of illness a child may remain absent from the school but after his/her recovery an application should be sent on the day he/she attends the school

• If any parents desire to take their children for the remaining periods of the day, they are requested to obtain permission from the Principal with a written application. In case the child is sick and wishes to go home for the remaining periods his / her parents will be duly informed to take him/her back with their care.

• The parents are requested to attend the parents teacher's meeting compulsory in the school to know about your ward's progress in academics and overall development.

• The parents are requested to meet the Principal on any matter regarding their children. They should not have any discussion with any teacher without prior permission of the Principal.

• Corporal punishment is strictly prohibited in the School. In case of gross misconduct of any child the concerned parents will be duly informed to take necessary measures to rectify their children.

• In case of incorrigible cases the parents will be requested to with-draw their children from the school.

• Whenever any parents require any certificate from the school, they must apply atleast two days prior to the issue to the certificate.

• Parents are requested not to give any money children when they are in the school.

• Parents should ensure that their children's have good behaviour, conduct and punctuality in the school. They are also requested to see that their children attend the school and do their work regularly.

• Parents should dress properly and carry parents card while coming to school for any reasons.

• Parents are requested to meet the respective teacher only on last saturday of every month after school hours (11.00 am. to 12.00 pm.only) Phone timing : (5.00 pm to 6.00 pm only)

POLICY:

ADMISSION POLICY

Students of all nationalities are eligible for admission to KANAK MANJARI International School if they believe that the school can meet their particular needs. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, gender, nationalities, cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.

Students are eligible for admission if they believe that the school can meet their specific needs. The school is not equipped or staffed to educate students with any gross /severe learning or emotional issues.

The admission is granted on the basis of the space available to ensure adequate and optimum utilization of the school's resources.

Documentation:

lAcademic transcripts/report cards of the previous years are evaluated

lA proof of age – ‘Certificate of Birth'. l

Admission process

Student, parents and authorized guardians are invited to the school for a full day procedure that includes the aptitude test, personal interview .

The Interview and the performance in the Aptitude test are evaluated by the members of the Academic

. The final authority for admitting the student rests with the chairman and Principal.

COUNSELLING POLICY

KANAK MANJARI International School is unique as it has a section of counseling i.e. frequent parents-teachers meeting which is compulsory are held throughout the year for helping students gain an understanding of themselves and the situations facing them and to help them develop strategies to cope with change.One-on-one counselling is provided to the students on a regular basis..

LANGUAGE POLICY

English is used as the working language as the school presents itself as a microcosm of the larger world those houses various nationalities, identities and believers. English has helped in unifying different groups from dissimilar backgrounds with no biases and prejudices, to make communication across the school possible. It also gives the required exposure to all the students to innovative techniques in every field. English is used as the language of learning and teaching as the performance in the other subjects depend on the proficiency in English. Teachers instill in students the need to gain competency in English and all teachers prove to be language teachers when they communicate in this language. The courses in English cater to the student needs and abilities. Moreover, a reading of various texts translated into English provides learning experience to the students, which is undeniable. By considering English as a necessary factor that binds, the school dispels any chances of extreme regionalism and undesirable nationalistic spirit that could be a threat to the secularism and democratic principles, which are intrinsic aspects of the school guiding principles.

They are focused on:

• Listening – Students are encouraged to listen to readings from passages

• Speaking - Students are given topics to speak on extempore

• Grammar – Students are given lessons and exercises to learn new concepts and reinforce the concepts that have already been learnt in Grade 6.

• Comprehension - Unseen Passages in prose are given to improve the students' reading skills

• Directed Writing – Students learn to apply their skills of writing based on detailed instructions that are provided by the teacher

• Composition - Students learn to apply their writing skills in writing various types of essays

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS:

GIFTS

Giving money or gifts to the staff members is prohibited.

MEDICAL

The school will not be held responsible for any injury suffered by a student, for his/ her loss of life during activities such as games, sport. This will be resorted to when time is at a premium and it is difficult to contact the parent and obtain their permission for the operation.

MEDICAL RECORDS

The complete medical records of the child / ward must be furnished for perusal at the time of admission. The medical report that is submitted must invariably contain all the relevant medical information relating to child since birth.

EXAM CERTIFICATES

The Final examination certificates of a student should be collected from the school personally by the parents and not by any other person.

NON PAYMENT OF FEES

The school reserves the right to strike the name of a student off the Roll or stop him/her from appearing for any examination including external and internal examinations for non-payment of fees and other dues before the commencement of such examinations.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENT

• Students who come to school by own arrangement must be walked to the classroom for first few days and only for kindergarten . Parents of Std 1 to Std 6 are requested to drop the child near the gate as the children would be guided by our attendants

• Children will only be released to the parent(s) or other persons authorized by the parent.

• A designated adult must wait for the child at the bus stop. If no one is there to receive the child, the driver will finish the bus route and then take the child back to the school to wait for their parents.

• For bus related kindly contact the school office and they will co ordinate with bus drivers.

• Children coming or going by cycle to school or vice-versa need to get an written application from their parent as the safety and security depends entirely on parents and not the school

VISIT BY PARENTS/GUARDIANS

Parents / Guardians can visit their ward/s during the mid-term break only. In exceptional cases and in emergencies they may visit their wards after obtaining written permission from the Principal / the Vice Principal. Only parents are allowed to take the children out from the school. The identity card entitles a person to visit a student only and to take the student out.

MONEY,TUCKS AND OTHER CONTRABAND ITEMS

Tucks, eatables, chewing gums, perfumes, gel, electronic items and costly items are banned in the school. Such things will be confiscated from the student and in addition, the students will be suitably punished. The items confiscated will not be returned to the parents or to the students. Although there is no provision for tuck shop, the school arranges to provide children with all their requirements.

SMOKING

Smoking is strictly banned within the school premises for the students, parents, guardians and visitors. The school reserves the right to expel a student at any time for indulging in misconduct or any discipline case. Such students, depending on the severity of the offence, may be escorted home and handed over to the parents at their expense and the TC will be issued immediately with the remark "expelled for misconduct".

DETENTION

A student will be detained only once in a particular class. If the student concerned does not make substantial improvement to be promoted to the next class in the next promotion examination, he/she will have to be withdrawn from the school.

DISCIPLINE CASE

For any case of gross indiscipline, a student may be expelled from the school, and it is mandatory for the parents to come and collect such children from the school, failing which they will be escorted under school arrangement and handed over to the parents and such expenses will be debited from the student's account.

TELEPHONE CALLS

Students are not permitted to make calls to parents / guardians. Frequent telephone calls from parents are discouraged since it interferes with the academic performance of the student.

PARCELS

Parcels of any kind are not accepted in school. Parents may send only medicines and textbooks to the students, and such parcels must be addressed to the Section Coordinators concerned.

LATE ARRIVALS

Students who habitually arrivelate to school will be sent back home with the parents.

WITHDRAWALS

Parents are requested to inform the school well in advance of their decision to withdraw their child/children from KANAK MANJARI International School. The under mentioned regulations will be applicable:-

• Request for withdrawal should be sent by an e-mail or letter duly signed by the Parent and addressed to the Principal, KANAK MANJARI INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

• There will be no levy of a Fine for the withdrawal request submitted on or before the previous academic session.

• In case the request for withdrawal is submitted on or after the new academic session starts fine will be levied

• For Withdrawal request submitted after new academic session of the current year, the full fee for the First Term of the following Academic Year will have to be paid

• For the withdrawal of a newly admitted child at the request of the Parent after one month or during the Academic Year, only the Caution Deposit will be refunded

• If there is a withdrawal in-between the Terms or during the Academic Year, both the Term fees will have to be paid

• If the dues are not paid as per the aforementioned stipulated Regulations, the same will be deducted from the Caution Deposit

Please note that the Transfer Certificate will be issued only after the full and final settlement of all dues
